Skills Champion

This award recognises those unsung pioneer who commit their heart and soul to training and developing the highly skilled individuals we have within engineering and manufacturing.  Whether it be apprentices, T level students, or graduates or ensuring the existing workforce has the skills for the future; these are individuals working behind the scenes who invest their time in the success of others.  

The skills and talent that we have in the sector is down to the efforts of training providers, colleges, universities or inhouse learning and development teams.  This award recognises those individuals, teams or organisations that work relentlessly to ensure our engineers have the skills they need to be successful.

Guidance

  • Judges are looking for nominations that show a passion for our industry and for supporting individuals to develop the skills needed for the current and future needs of engineering and manufacturing​.​
  • Consider submitting brief testimonials from those that have been helped.  

Other considerations when completing the nomination form

  • What does it mean to you or the individual/team you are nominating to support individuals or young people in their career and skills development and how do you do this?
  • Give examples on how you have helped individuals exceed expectations, overcome challenges etc.
  • How do you measure the impact of their work that your you /the work brings to the  and its benefit to of others?
